EDF power solutions believes in innovation as a tool for economic and industrial development, prioritizing good sustainability practices aimed at reducing environmental impact.
Within the scope of the Research, Development, and Innovation Program regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency, through UTE Norte Fluminense, we develop projects in partnership with research centers, startups, and industries, considering future market integration of the developed solutions. With this, we aim to accelerate innovation in the Brazilian electricity sector, generating new products, services, and businesses.
The Research, Development, and Innovation Program of UTE Norte Fluminense meets the criteria of Law 9.991/2000, which establishes the obligation to apply a minimum percentage of its Net Operating Revenue (NOR) to technological innovation projects.
Aneel’s R&D Procedures address the presentation of the program, legal and regulatory aspects, project development formats, project oversight, and evaluation parameters and criteria.
With the aim of providing transparency and publicity to its completed and ongoing projects, UTE Norte Fluminense reports the balance of the R&D account and data on these projects.

ACTIBLOCK
- Coating resistant to corrosion, abrasion and high temperatures (epoxy resin with siloxane)
- Application potential: aeronautical, aerospace, naval, chemical and oil industries (in use of UTE NF and UTE GNA)

LUBTERM
- Synthetic and non-toxic grease (can be used in the food industry – NSF certified)
- Absence of residue formation and dropping point, inertia when in contact with oxygen (safety in handling)
- In use in the electrical and wood sector (MDF)

ONFRA
- Online monitoring to detect faults in the insulation of electric motors
- Non-invasive solution for medium and low voltage motors

TOPICS OF INTEREST FOR DEVELOPING R&D PROJECTS
The R&D projects selected by UTE Norte Fluminense must meet at least one of three criteria: respect for the environment, efficiency in the industrial process and financial sustainability.

COMPLETED PROJECTS
