Corrente do Bem Program promotes 1st EDF Renewables beach cleaning task force

The Corrente do Bem Program, a volunteer initiative of EDF Renewables, promoted, in partnership with Seu Lixo Meu, a consultancy responsible for preparing and executing socio-environmental projects, the 1st volunteer action of 2024: a cleaning task force at Praia do Flamengo. With the aim of fostering cooperation and promoting awareness, the action brought together more than 20 people considering employees of EDF Renewables, EDF Brasil and guests to collect waste in one of the most famous areas of the city, demonstrating solidarity and commitment to the environment, leaving the beach cleaner for everyone.

During the activity, participants were able to better understand the importance of recycling and correct disposal of garbage. At the end of the action, 59.5 kilos of waste were collected and sent to a local cooperative responsible for proper recycling and the organics generated in the action were sent for composting.

15 wooden sticks (barbecue and popsicle);
11 iron waste;
09 glass bottles;
06 aluminum cans;
05 hygiene packages (soap, shaver, comb, cream);

The Corrente do Bem Program, created by Comunicação in 2022, aims to support initiatives that reinforce our values through donations and volunteer actions. Employees can also nominate non-governmental and non-profit institutions for future actions.
