Corrente do Bem Program celebrates Children’s Month with volunteering
In celebration of Children’s Month, the Corrente do Bem Program, a volunteer initiative of EDF Renewables, collected donations of used and new toys, as well as children’s books. The donation was delivered to the NGO One by One, an institution that provides social inclusion for families with children with physical, motor or neurological disabilities and in social vulnerability in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to the donation, a group of volunteer employees from EDF Renewables and EDF Brasil got together to deliver the donations to the children of the assisted families and supported the organization of the NGO’s commemorative picnic. On the occasion, volunteers had the opportunity to interact with the children and participate in the dynamics proposed in the action. EDF Renewables also donated food items to compose the picnic.
In all, more than 50 toys and more than 40 books were donated, in addition to about 15 kg of plastic caps for the purchase of wheelchairs and backpacks-bags with a set of crayons.
